Materials Synthesis and Consulting The laboratory of Dr. Fivos R Drymiotis |
|
I am currently an assistant professor of physics in the department of physics and astronomy of Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. My expertise is materials-synthesis and characterization. I was introduced to the art of single-crystal growth by Dr. Paul Canfield and perfected my skills during my PhD studies under the guidance of Dr. Zachary Fisk at The Florida State University. I was a Seaborg Institute post-doctoral fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory where I worked under the guidance of Dr. Albert Migliori and Dr. Jason Lashley. At Los Alamos, in addition to growing single-crystals using the facilities of the now dismantled MST-9 and of MST-10, I also performed elastic constant measurements using the technique of resonant-ultrasound-spectroscopy, under the guidance of Dr. Albert Migliori and Dr. Hassel Ledbetter. |
